Optional Training - Creating NAV Data Sets for SSRS Reports
Learn how to build NAV datasets for reporting with SQL Server Reporting Services or analysis with PowerPivot. There are a huge number of tools available to analyze SQL data outside of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Two powerful tools are SQL Server Reporting Services and PowerPivot. To begin analyzing NAV data outside of NAV, however, we may first want to understand how to build a flat dataset (where two or more tables are joined) and what’s involved with building datasets. If you’re looking to join data between two or more tables or companies, or encapsulate / summarize data from a production system to a reporting system or data warehouse, join us! This is the companion class to Creating Views and Reports with SQL Server Reporting Services, offered after this class in the afternoon, but they are independent classes.

Once you learn these strategies, you will not only help those you work with, but you will help yourself as well.
